Hi, I’m Halo
“Food is Medicine” is a rigorous scientific discipline. I’m Halo, a PhD student and nutrition researcher dedicated to demystifying metabolic health and bone science. My mission is to bridge the gap between complex laboratory data and the practical, everyday choices that define our long-term vitality.
From Clinic to Lab: My Path
My journey in nutrition started with a commitment to clinical care, working alongside physicians to manage chronic disease and community health. Those years on the front lines taught me that “nutrition” must be rooted in objective, measurable science.
Driven by the need to understand the "why" behind health outcomes, I moved to the United States to pursue my Master’s in Nutritional Science at California State University, Long Beach. My research there focused on the complex interplay between energy availability, hormonal health, and bone mineral density in elite endurance athletes with a specific focus on females.
Current Research Focus
Currently pursuing my PhD within the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at Texas Woman’s University, my doctoral research focuses on the intricate relationship between musculoskeletal health and metabolic function. I am deeply invested in discovering how nutritional strategies and bioactive compounds can be used to quiet chronic inflammation, protect endocrine health, and support long-term bone homeostasis in females.
